Hand carved wooden printing blocks

Watch this wonderful vid that I found on the net .... showing carved wooden blocks for hand block printing is prolific in India. Found this really interesting film about how wooden art stamps are actually made - from slicing up the wood, pasting, carving and then of course the textile printers at work creating their stunning Indian textiles. 

At The Block Printing Shop, we  use exactly this hand carved method to make all our wooden printing blocks. So wonderful to keep this traditional skill alive.
